Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Launch Cross-Border Trade Zone

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following high-level talks, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov, took part in the opening ceremony of the joint cross-border trade zone “Shavat–Dashoguz.”

The new trade complex houses administrative buildings for the management office, as well as customs, quarantine, phytosanitary, and veterinary control services.

For business participants, the zone provides a trade pavilion, warehouse facilities, and a one-stop-shop government service complex with integrated interactive services.

Visitors have access to banking, medical, and hotel services, along with a spacious parking area.

The opening of the Shavat–Dashoguz zone creates favorable conditions for developing trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan’s Khorezm Region and Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz Velayat—two key regions with a combined population of over 3.5 million people.
