Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia discuss joint projects and upcoming meetings
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 May, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation to discuss key issues concerning the further deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries.
The two leaders reviewed the progress in implementing the agreements reached during President Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May of last year and noted the positive outcomes of their practical execution.
Special attention was given to the importance of coordinated efforts to sustain the growth of bilateral trade, accelerate the implementation of cooperative projects in key sectors of the economy, and strengthen interregional and business ties.
In this context, the outcomes of the business events held in Tashkent as part of the Fifth International Industrial Exhibition “Innoprom. Central Asia” were highly praised.
The presidents also expressed satisfaction with the expansion of humanitarian cooperation, particularly in the fields of culture, science, education, arts, sports, and tourism.
Additionally, the heads of state exchanged views on several current international issues and discussed upcoming high-level engagements.
