Before negotiations, a ceremony of an official meeting of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, who arrived in Uzbekistan with a state visit, took place. The honour guard was build to welcome the Kazakh President.

State anthems of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were performed. The presidents went around the guard of honor.

Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held talks in a narrow format. During the conversation, prospects of further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were discussed.

The sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
