The heads of the two countries discussed the urgent issues of further expanding and deepening of the Uzbek-Kazakh multifaceted cooperation. In particular, the parties considered implementation of agreements, reached at the highest level.
The presidents of the two countries stressed that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are developing a strategic partnership.
It was emphasized that the mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade-economic, investment, energy and transport-communication spheres is developing dynamically. The volumes of mutual trade are steadily growing, cooperative projects are being implemented in various sectors of the economy.
Contacts between regions and at the business level were intensified. The frequency of flights, the volumes of road and rail transportation increased, and the bus service was resumed. Cultural-humanitarian and tourist exchanges are expanding.
In this regard, the practical results of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation, which is an effective mechanism for promoting joint projects and programs, were noted.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to development of good-neighborly relations between the countries of Central Asia. With satisfaction, the fruitful results of the first summit of the heads of state of the region, held in March 2018 in Astana, were underlined.
The leaders of the two countries also exchanged views on a number of topical issues of international politics and regional cooperation.
In conclusion, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Nursultan Nazarbayev confirmed their firm resolve to expand multifaceted cooperation and strengthen the centuries-old ties of friendship and partnership in the interests of the two fraternal countries and peoples.
