President Visits New Enterprise of “Iftikhor Kiyim Sanoat” Textile Cluster
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a new enterprise of the “Iftikhor Kiyim Sanoat” cluster in Turakurgan district of Namangan region, which has become a leader in Uzbekistan’s textile industry.
This sector accounts for one-third of the region’s industrial output and half of its exports. Around 2,500 enterprises operate in the area, producing goods under nearly 250 brands and providing income for more than 100,000 people.
To expand industrial capacity, the Namangan Free Economic Zone was extended to Turakurgan district. Among nearly twenty projects being implemented there, the new enterprise of the “Iftikhor Kiyim Sanoat” cluster stands out for its successful integration with leading global brands. The factory produces clothing for orders from Bugatti, Pierre Cardin, Roy Robson, Baldessarini, Lavard, Jake’s, Engbers, Cinque, Walbusch, and others, as well as upholstery fabrics for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Rolls-Royce—making it the only facility of its kind in the region.
The total cost of the project reached 198 million dollars, with funds allocated for the construction of modern production facilities and laboratories, and for the purchase of energy-efficient equipment from Germany, Italy, Türkiye, and Poland. The laboratory ensures strict quality control and strengthens the trust of international brands.
At full capacity, the enterprise will produce goods worth 100 million dollars annually, create 2,000 new jobs, and generate stable tax revenues.
During his visit, the head of state observed the production process, spoke with workers, and met with foreign participants of the “From Poverty to Prosperity” forum, where an exhibition of ready-made garments and products from other industries was presented.
At the conclusion, the president was briefed on plans to implement 252 major projects in Namangan region with foreign investment in textiles, construction, electrical engineering, tourism, agriculture, and chemicals.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed officials to create the most favorable conditions for investors, accelerate project implementation, expand employment, and increase household incomes.
