President: Uzbekistan’s economy grows almost five times in 23 years

According to the President, the growth of GDP per capital during independence years reached 3.7 times and income of population per capita – 8.7 times, which serves as evidence for growth of life standards of population.

Uzbek President said that all these are clear proof that during short term, Uzbekistan became dynamically developed modern state.

Islam Karimov said that annual economic growth of Uzbekistan made up over 8% in last ten years despite global financial-economic crisis. He noted that Uzbekistan continues stable development, which can be observed in few other countries.
