The Legislative Chamber passed the law on 28 September 2017, and the Senate approved the document on 4 October 2017.
The agreement envisages approval of the description of the passage of the 1170.53 km line of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz State border and cartographic materials of delimitation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state borders, as well as electronic (raster) cartographic materials.
According to the document, the parties will continue negotiations to resolve issues of passing the state border line on the remaining sections and prepare an appropriate agreement.
The agreement also stipulates establishment of the Joint Uzbek-Kyrgyz Demarcation Commission, which will demarcate the State Border at its separate sites, agreed in accordance with the treaty.
On 5 October, the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev ratified the treaty on 2 October 2017.
