President signs law “On appeals of individuals and legal entities”

Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis passed the document on 29 November 2014 and Senate approved it on 13 November. The law came into force on 4 December 2014.

The document was developed by the Cabinet of Ministers to execute the state programme “The Year of Well Being and Prosperity”, which was approved by presidential resolution of Uzbekistan from 14 February 2013.

The law will replace current law “On appeals of the citizens” and directed at improving organizational-legal bases for consideration of appeals of legal entities and individuals, ensuring protection of rights and freedoms of the citizens and legal entities.

The document also strengthens legal opportunity to submission of appeals with use of modern information-communication devices and technologies.

The law will help to improve efficiency of the work with appeals of individuals and legal entities, protect their rights and interests, and strengthen responsibility of state bodies and organization for timely and comprehensive consideration of the appeals.
