President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Meets with Leaders of Leading American Companies in New York

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In New York, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with leaders of major American companies at the residence designated for the head of state.

The delegation included Alan Docter, Chairman of the Board of Traxys; John Bradford, Vice President of the Colorado School of Mines; Peter Flanagan, Senior Vice President of FLSmidth; Yermolay Solzhenitsyn, Senior Partner and Head of the Central Asia Office at McKinsey; and Mikhail Sedoy, CEO of Go Green Partners.

The parties discussed practical aspects of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with American companies and organizations.

Traxys, a global leader in the supply of critical raw materials and minerals, has developed a portfolio of prospective projects in Uzbekistan’s geological exploration and mining sector worth US$1 billion. An agreement and “roadmap” were signed for the introduction of advanced technologies and the creation of sustainable supply chains for critical minerals.

The Colorado School of Mines, a leading engineering university for mining industry specialists, is collaborating on a project to establish a Competence Center at the University of Geological Sciences of Uzbekistan.

FLSmidth, a developer of technologies and equipment for the mining and processing industry, is actively participating in the development of Uzbekistan’s copper sector.

McKinsey, the international consulting firm, has jointly prepared with the Uzbek side a strategy for the development of the country’s raw materials base and transformation of the mining industry.

Go Green Partners, specializing in investments in the extraction and processing of minerals for green energy, plans to conduct geological exploration in promising areas.

It was noted that the combined capitalization of the participating companies exceeds US$20 billion.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish a joint working group and approve a “roadmap” for the accelerated implementation of current and prospective projects.
