President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Arrives in Surkhandarya Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Surkhandarya Region, beginning his visit with a stop at the mausoleum of Hakim Termezi.

During the ceremony, verses from the Quran were recited and duas were offered, calling upon the Almighty for peace and prosperity for the people of Uzbekistan.

In a conversation with religious figures, the head of state discussed the in-depth study and broad promotion of the spiritual and enlightenment legacy of Hakim Termezi, who made a significant contribution to the development of Islamic scholarship.

Particular attention was given to spreading the high virtues of Islam — the pursuit of good, humanism, mercy, and compassion — as well as the preservation and development of national values to educate the younger generation in a spirit of patriotism and moral ideals.

The mausoleum, which has been carefully restored and landscaped in recent years, is equipped with modern lighting, heating, and cooling systems. More than four thousand perennial ornamental trees of 40 species and over 20,000 seasonal flowers have been planted on the grounds of the complex, creating a comfortable microclimate for pilgrims.

The President issued instructions on maintaining the complex in good order and expanding visitor amenities, emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting the scholar's works in the fields of Quranic exegesis, hadith studies, fiqh, kalam, Islamic philosophy, and the history of Sufism and Sufi thought.
