President Reviews the “Taraqqiyot” Industrial-Service Zone

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with projects of the “Taraqqiyot”  (Development) industrial-service zone, located in the Yangi Namangan district.

Uzbekistan is consistently establishing technoparks and small industrial zones to provide favorable conditions for entrepreneurs, diversify the economy, and increase employment. Currently, 73 industrial zones with a total area of 1,500 hectares operate in Namangan Region.

Special attention has been given to the Sohil mahalla of Yangi Namangan district. Previously, entrepreneurs and artisans worked in limited home settings, but now they operate in a modern complex with developed infrastructure.

The 10-hectare zone, created on the basis of the “Gijduvan model,” brings together 113 projects.

For stable operations, power grids, water supply, sewerage, and internal roads were built with state funding. As a result, production and services worth around 500 billion soums per year have been established, creating more than 4,800 new jobs. A total of 170 entrepreneurs from nearby mahallas have been engaged, and over 350 households have been involved in cooperative production, significantly boosting local economic activity.

A notable feature is the opportunity for the unemployed to retrain in modern professions using ready-made equipment and practice facilities. This helps reduce unemployment, alleviate poverty, and improve citizens’ well-being.

The President also visited automotive service centers in the zone and discussed current industry issues with specialists. “New car plants are opening across the country, household incomes are rising, and the number of vehicles is growing. However, service quality is still not keeping pace. Maintenance for foreign car brands remains underdeveloped. If we establish a systemic approach, we can expand employment and improve service quality,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He instructed to expand similar service centers and training programs for qualified specialists in other districts.

The head of state also toured an exhibition of furniture produced in the industrial zone, emphasizing the importance of supporting entrepreneurs, creating opportunities for youth to gain experience and employment, and ensuring occupational safety, fire and technical security, as well as proper working and rest conditions.

As part of the visit, information was presented on large-scale urban development and housing projects underway in Namangan Region.

These initiatives play a crucial role in creating modern living conditions and in the comprehensive development of the region.
