The law was passed by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on 31 May and approved by the Senate on 28 June.
The agreement on certain sections of the Uzbek-Tajik state border was signed in Dushanbe on 9 March 2018 as part of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan.
The parties have agreed 99.99% of the previously undisturbed sections of the border, or 192.7 km. Topographical maps have already been created on these sites.
