President ratifies agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkey on extradition

On 2 July 2018, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law “On ratification of the agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey on extradition".
The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis passed the law on 26 June 2018. The Senate approved the document on 28 June 2018.
The agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkey on extradition was signed on 20 April in Tashkent within the framework of the visit of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Uzbekistan.
The document will serve as a legal basis for ensuring the principle of the inevitability of responsibility for the commission of a crime and should contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries in the fight against crime.
