President proposed to open Office of OHCHR in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to open an office of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Uzbekistan, the director of the National Center for Human Rights Akmal Saidov stated.

According to him, the Uzbek leader made this proposal during a meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein in New York.

He said that the opening of the office of OHCHR in Uzbekistan to ensure direct contacts between Uzbekistan and this UN structure.
