President of Uzbekistan to visit China
During the visit Uzbek President will attend the 18th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Qingdao, China.
The leaders of the SCO countries will discuss promising areas for further improvement of the organization’s activities and issues of regional security.
The sides will also discuss issues of expansion of economic and investment cooperation, as well as activation of transport and communication cooperation. Other aspects of cooperation between the SCO countries will also be considered.
It is expected that the SCO countries will adopt the Qingdao Declaration. The SCO member states will adopt the Program of Cooperation in Combating Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism for 2019-2021, the Action Plan for 2018-2022 to implement the provisions of the Treaty on Long-Term Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, the Joint Appeal to Youth and other documents.
The SCO countries will decide on the presiding country in the organization in 2018-2019 the state. The head of the SCO countries will approve the candidacy for the posts of the Secretary General and the Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Antiterrorism Structure for the next three years.
Within the framework of participation in the SCO Summit, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations.
