President of Uzbekistan to Visit Belarus in 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will make a state visit to Belarus in 2026, Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin announced at the meeting of the Uzbek-Belarusian Business Council in Tashkent.
According to Turchin, the two sides are already working on the substantive content of the visit and are calling on the business community to play an active role in shaping its economic agenda.
Uzbekistan ranks third among CIS countries in terms of trade turnover with Belarus, and bilateral trade is steadily approaching the one billion dollar target set by the two heads of state.
The Belarusian Prime Minister stressed that straightforward trade is reaching the limits of its potential, and that both countries must move toward deeper forms of engagement — industrial cooperation, joint manufacturing, and investment projects.
"Industry is our key driver, but we see significant untapped potential for deepening cooperative ties" in agriculture, woodworking, pharmaceuticals, logistics, the financial sector, and IT, he noted.
Turchin is in Uzbekistan on an official visit at the head of a government delegation. During the trip he laid a wreath at the Monument of Independence in Yangi Uzbekistan Park, visited the Technopark production complex on the site of the former Tashkent Aviation Plant, and toured the Termez International Trade Center.
A package of bilateral documents was signed between companies of the two countries following the business negotiations.
