President of Uzbekistan to hold a series of meetings in China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold meetings and negotiations with the leaders of China, Russia, India, Pakistan and the UN leadership in Qingdao (China), the Spokesman of the Uzbek President Komil Allamjonov stated.

President of Uzbekistan will visit China from 8 to 10 June 2018. Within the framework of his visit to China, he will participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Allamjonov said that the President of Uzbekistan will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of several countries. According to him, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will arrive in China on 8 June.

On 9 June, the Uzbek leader will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On 10 June, the President will take part in the summit of the heads of the SCO member states. Spokesman of the President of Uzbekistan noted that for the first time the summit will be held with participation of India and Pakistan as full members of the SCO.

The leaders of the SCO member states will discuss issues of improving the organization’s activities, regional security, expanding economic cooperation, developing transport and communication cooperation, and others. Participants will also consider a number of organizational issues. As a result of the summit, the leaders of the SCO countries will sign a number of documents.

Komil Allamjonov said that Shavkat Mirziyoyev will meet with Pakistani President Mamnun Hussein and the UN leadership on 10 June. He added that the President of Uzbekistan can hold other meetings.
