President of Uzbekistan to Attend Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Azerbaijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Azerbaijan on 6–7 October.

During the visit, the Uzbek leader will take part in the meetings of the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which will be held in the city of Gabala.

The summit will be held under the theme “Regional Peace and Security,” with the agenda including discussions on current issues of further development and deepening of multilateral cooperation within the Organization.

The heads of state are expected to review prospects for practical cooperation in political, trade and economic, innovation, investment, energy, transport and communications, humanitarian, and other key areas.

Delegation leaders will also exchange views on pressing international and regional issues.

Following the summit, a number of joint decisions and documents aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation among the member states of the Organization of Turkic States are expected to be adopted.
