President of Uzbekistan Reviews Pakistan’s Defense Industry Capabilities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Upon arrival in Islamabad, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the headquarters of Global Industrial & Defence Solutions, where he met with the Commander-in-Chief of Pakistan’s Armed Forces — Chief of the Army, Field Marshal Asim Munir.

During the talks, key directions for the further development of multifaceted Uzbekistan–Pakistan cooperation and strategic partnership were discussed. Special attention was given to expanding collaboration in the military and defense-technical spheres, as well as coordinating efforts to counter modern security challenges and threats.

The importance of strengthening cooperative ties between leading defense industry enterprises of both countries was emphasized, along with expanding military training programs, exchanging practical experience, and conducting joint exercises.

Additionally, discussions focused on accelerating the implementation of prospective infrastructure projects in the transport and logistics sectors.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to prepare a dedicated “roadmap” for the development of military and defense-technical cooperation.

President Mirziyoyev also reviewed Global Industrial & Defence Solutions’ developments, including samples of modern Pakistani military equipment and weaponry.
