President of Uzbekistan Receives OSCE Chair-in-Office
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the OSCE Chair-in-Office, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland Elina Valtonen, who arrived in Tashkent on an official visit.
At the beginning of the meeting, Elina Valtonen conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb.
The parties discussed current issues related to strengthening practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE, as well as prospects for further development of Uzbekistan–Finland bilateral relations.
The steady progress of Uzbekistan’s partnership with the OSCE was noted with satisfaction, particularly in areas such as modernizing the electoral system, ensuring media freedom, promoting gender equality and youth support, and advancing green agenda initiatives. The importance of expanding cooperation in the fields of climate security and sustainable development was especially emphasized.
The meeting also focused on deepening Uzbek-Finnish ties in the trade, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
In addition, the two sides exchanged views on regional issues and agreed on a schedule for upcoming bilateral events.
