President of Uzbekistan Ratifies SCO Environmental Protection Agreement
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a resolution “On the Approval of an International Treaty.”
The document ratifies the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection between the governments of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The agreement was originally signed on 4 July 2024, in Astana during the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States.
Under the resolution, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change is designated as the authorized body responsible for implementing the provisions of the treaty.
After the agreement enters into force, the Cabinet of Ministers and the heads of relevant ministries and agencies will ensure its implementation in accordance with established procedures.
