President of Uzbekistan Participates in Informal CIS Leaders’ Meeting

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 December, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held at the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.

The meeting was also attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed the outcomes of joint efforts over the past year and outlined priority areas of cooperation for the upcoming period.

They addressed key regional and international issues and developed common approaches to strengthening interaction across priority areas.

Particular attention was paid to creating favorable conditions for expanding mutual trade, developing transport and investment cooperation, enhancing collaboration in the energy and digital sectors, and broadening joint projects in science, education, culture, and the arts.

The leaders emphasized the importance of long-term partnership between regions and the need to support cultural and humanitarian exchanges, as well as to stimulate the creative, innovative, and intellectual potential of the youth of the CIS countries.
