President of Uzbekistan Participates in Central Asia + Japan Dialogue Business Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Continuing the program of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a multilateral business forum.

The forum was attended by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

During the event, participants discussed key issues regarding the development of trade and economic cooperation between Central Asian countries and Japan, the attraction of Japanese investments and advanced technologies to the region, the expansion of industrial cooperation, and the strengthening of direct contacts between business communities.

The forum showcased concrete joint economic projects reflecting the practical focus of the partnership. Notably, Uzbek-Japanese investment initiatives were presented, including the construction of two solar power plants in Uzbekistan by Sumitomo, Chubu Electric Power, and Shikoku Electric Power with support from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI); an IT infrastructure modernization project involving Toyota Tsusho; the establishment of a multidisciplinary medical center by Sojitz; and plans for the development of new deposits of critical minerals with the participation of JOGMEC.

At the conclusion of the forum, in the presence of the leaders, a ceremonial exchange of documents related to the projects took place, marking an important step toward the practical implementation of the agreements and further deepening of economic partnership between Central Asia and Japan.
