President of Uzbekistan Expresses Condolences to Pakistan Following Terrorist Attack in Islamabad
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in connection with the multiple casualties and injuries resulting from a terrorist attack at a mosque in Islamabad.
The head of state expressed his sincere sympathies to the people of Pakistan, the families and loved ones of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured.
The explosion occurred on February 6 at the mosque in the Tarlai district during Friday prayers. The causes of the incident are currently being investigated. According to media reports, 31 people were killed and at least 169 were injured. Preliminary information indicates that three attackers entered the Imam Bargah mosque prior to the explosion, injuring a local security guard.
