Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 February, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi.

The minister conveyed warm greetings and a personal message from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman to the Uzbek president.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and finance. They noted the increasing intergovernmental and business contacts, the growth in trade turnover and joint ventures, as well as the regular organization of business events.

Special attention was given to the development of a joint Investment Company and the launch of new projects. A meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum are scheduled for April.

The discussion also covered the strengthening of interparliamentary ties, cultural exchanges, and the establishment of direct air connections.

Additionally, views were exchanged on regional issues, including preparations for the second Central Asia – Gulf States Summit, which is set to take place in May in Samarkand.
