President of Uzbekistan Congratulates National Leader of Turkmen People on Birthday

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 June, during a telephone conversation, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on his birthday.

The President of Uzbekistan wished him good health, family well-being, and continued success, as well as peace and prosperity to the brotherly Turkmen nation.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s outstanding personal contribution to strengthening the foundations of modern Turkmenistan, ensuring its stable development, and enhancing the country’s international standing.

Special attention was given to the Turkmen leader’s role in developing Uzbek-Turkmen relations, which are based on friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership.

During the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed warm greetings on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Both sides noted with satisfaction that bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan has reached an unprecedented level in recent years. This progress has been made possible thanks to regular high-level contacts, interagency collaboration, and the expansion of economic and humanitarian ties.

There has been steady growth in mutual trade and cargo transportation, and large-scale cooperation projects are being implemented. Notably, the construction of the Shavat–Dashoguz border trade zone is nearing completion. Cultural and humanitarian exchanges have also intensified significantly.

The parties discussed upcoming joint events, including the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Interregional Forum, and the Business Council session.

They also addressed key issues of regional cooperation, particularly preparations for the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia, which is scheduled to take place in September in Tashkent.
