President of Uzbekistan Congratulates Citizens on the Day of Friendship of Peoples
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated his compatriots on the Day of Friendship of Peoples, celebrated on 30 July. The congratulatory message was published by the presidential press service.
Addressing the citizens, the President noted that representatives of more than 130 nationalities and ethnic groups living together as one united family in Uzbekistan make a significant contribution to strengthening peace, good neighborliness, and harmony in the country. “It is undoubtedly noteworthy that the ethnic diversity that has existed on our land since ancient times, being a unique social phenomenon, is today, in the conditions of the New Uzbekistan, acquiring new meaning and substance,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.
The head of state stressed that the development of interethnic relations has been identified by the government as an important factor for peace and stability in building a democratic rule-of-law state and a free civil society. According to him, representatives of different nationalities, working diligently in responsible positions in state and public organizations, contribute to the country’s socio-economic growth, strengthen its international standing, and promote the development of ties with their historical homelands.
The President also highlighted the active role of national cultural centers, which regularly take part in celebrations of Navruz, Independence Day, and other large-scale events, showcasing the rich culture, traditions, and customs of the peoples of Uzbekistan.
In particular, Shavkat Mirziyoyev underlined the importance of preserving an atmosphere of mutual respect and harmony, especially in the face of global challenges and conflicts. “On the basis of the principle of a united Uzbekistan, we will continue to consistently work to strengthen our greatest treasure — peace and stability in the country,” the President declared.
He assured that the state is taking all necessary measures to protect the rights and interests of representatives of all nationalities and faiths, as well as those of Uzbeks living abroad.
Concluding his address, the President expressed confidence that the citizens will continue to work selflessly for the prosperity of the country: “I wish you good health, success in your noble endeavors, family happiness, and well-being for your homes.
May our beloved Uzbekistan always prosper!”
