President of Uzbekistan Congratulates Agricultural Workers on Their Professional Holiday

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On Agricultural Workers’ Day, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed dekhkans, farmers, and all representatives of the agricultural sector with a message of congratulations, highlighting their contribution to the development of the industry and to strengthening the country’s food security.

The Head of State noted that in 2025, despite challenges related to climate change, agricultural producers achieved significant results. High yields of cotton, grains, fruits, and vegetables, he said, indicate the beginning of a new stage in the development of agriculture.

Special attention was given to the growing export potential of the country: the number of states importing Uzbek fruit and vegetable products has increased to 83.

The President emphasized the diligence and dedication of agricultural workers, noting that 110 representatives of the sector have been awarded state honors.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also announced new support measures for farmers. Starting in 2026, a 5% subsidy will be provided for additional cotton output; preferential loans of up to 2% will be made available to conscientious farms; a new electronic subsidy management system will be introduced; and crop insurance will be expanded, with the state covering 50% of insurance costs.

In addition, plans include the establishment of an Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the further development of horticulture, grain production, and aquaculture, the introduction of livestock breeding renewal programs, and sector modernization in cooperation with Hungarian and Norwegian partners.

The President also underscored the importance of training highly qualified personnel through the “New Agronomist” program and assigning experienced mentors to less successful farms.

“The future of our agriculture is the future of the entire country,” the Head of State said, expressing confidence that agricultural workers will make an active contribution to achieving strategic goals and further enhancing the sector.

The President wished all agricultural workers good health, prosperity, and new professional achievements.
