President of Uzbekistan concludes state visit to France
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has concluded his state visit to France, where he held high-level talks with French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit resulted in the adoption of a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership and the signing of multiple agreements.
As part of the visit, President Mirziyoyev participated in a roundtable discussion with representatives of the French business community. The cooperation program includes joint projects worth €6.5 billion.
For his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations, President Mirziyoyev was awarded the Legion of Honor, France’s highest national distinction.
During his stay, the Uzbek leader also met with the President of the French National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, and the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo. A ceremony was held to name a street in Paris after Samarkand, further solidifying cultural ties between the two nations.
Additionally, President Mirziyoyev held discussions with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay regarding future cooperation and preparations for the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which will take place in Samarkand.
At Orly Airport, the Uzbek delegation was seen off by France’s Minister of Sports and Youth, Marie Barsac, and other officials. The President has now returned to Tashkent.
