President of Uzbekistan Awarded Pakistan’s Highest State Honor — Order of “Nishan-e-Pakistan”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremonial event was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr residence to present the Order of Nishan-e-Pakistan, the highest state award of Pakistan, to President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The award was presented by President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari. During the ceremony, it was emphasized that the honor reflects Pakistan’s recognition of efforts by both countries to expand multifaceted cooperation, as well as friendship and deep respect for the people of Uzbekistan.
Both sides expressed confidence that the Uzbekistan-Pakistan strategic partnership will continue to strengthen and develop further.
It was noted that the Order of Nishan-e-Pakistan has previously been awarded to outstanding global leaders, including Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, U.S. President Richard Nixon, South African President Nelson Mandela, King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Chinese President Hu Jintao, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, among other distinguished figures.
