President of Uzbekistan Arrives in the United States

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 September, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in New York to participate in events marking the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly.

At John F. Kennedy International Airport, the head of state was welcomed by the U.S. President’s Special Envoy for Global Partnerships Paolo Zampolli, Chair of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, and other officials.

During the visit, the President of Uzbekistan will take part in the General Assembly’s general debates and deliver a report, as well as hold a series of bilateral meetings with leaders of foreign states, heads of international organizations, and representatives of financial institutions. Particular attention will be given to discussions on cooperation in economic, investment, and social sectors.

The program also includes meetings with the heads of major U.S. companies and participation in a roundtable with representatives of leading American corporations, providing an opportunity to discuss prospective areas of cooperation and strengthen business ties between Uzbekistan and the international business community.
