President of Uzbekistan Arrives in Japan on Official Visit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has arrived in Tokyo for an official visit.

At Haneda International Airport, the head of state was welcomed by Japan’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Yoshimasa Hayashi, along with other officials.

The main events of the visit are scheduled for December 19–20. During his stay, the President of Uzbekistan will hold meetings with Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, as well as representatives of government bodies, business circles, and the academic community in Japan. In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will participate in the first summit of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue.

Upon his arrival in Tokyo, the President received a warm welcome from Uzbek citizens living, working, and studying in Japan. An open and sincere dialogue was held, during which ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, as well as the aspirations, goals, and plans of the Uzbek diaspora, were discussed.

Wishing them success in their studies and professional activities, the head of state expressed confidence that the knowledge and experience gained in the Land of the Rising Sun would make a valuable contribution to the development and prosperity of Uzbekistan, as well as to the well-being of its people.
