Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of Uzbekistan has signed a decree “On Additional Measures to Support Domestic Enterprises Producing High Value-Added Products from Ethylene and Propylene Polymers.”

According to the document, starting from 1 September 2025 until 1 January 2028, imported polyethylene granules listed in a register formed on the basis of specific technical characteristics not produced in Uzbekistan will be subject to a zero excise tax rate.

Until 1 January 2028, imports of certain primary ethylene polymer forms (HS codes 3901 10 900 0, 3901 30, 3901 40) and primary propylene polymer forms (HS code 3902 10 000 0) will also be exempt from customs duties.

In addition, measures are introduced to prevent the import of low-quality and counterfeit flexible packaging based on the ex officio principle.
