President of Uzbekistan approves measures to accelerate the development of the building materials industry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On additional measures to accelerate the development of the building materials industry”.

The decree approved:

  • Forecast parameters for expanding the resource base of the construction industry on the basis of geological exploration, extraction and processing of local raw materials in 2019-2025;
  • The target parameters for the production of building materials in 2019-2025, taking into account the diversification and expansion of the product range.

As part of these parameters, it is expected to increase the processing of limestone by 13.1 million tonnes, gypsum stone - 1.8 million tonnes, sand and gravel materials - 5.6 million cubic meters. m

Also, it is envisaged to increase the production of wallpaper more than 47 times, composite reinforcement of basalt - 3 times and cement - 2 times.

Starting from 1 July 2019:

  • expenses of domestic manufacturers of building materials for certification of exported products are covered by the Export Promotion Agency;
  • the taxable base of business entities is reduced in five years in equal shares by the amount of expenditures on the construction of engineering, communications and transport infrastructure necessary for the development of non-metallic mineral deposits;
  • information characterizing the type or type of technogenic mineral formations is provided to business entities free of charge;

In 2019–2021, long-term preferential credit lines of international financial institutions and foreign banks in the amount of not less than US$500 million will be attracted and used to co-finance projects in the building materials industry.

Beginning with the 2019/2020 school year, the Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute, the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute and the Ferghana Polytechnic Institute will take measures to organize training in the following areas:

  • Technology of production of building materials, products and structures", "Production of precast concrete and concrete structures and products";
  • "Materials science and technology of new building materials (by type)";
  • "The technology of wall and cladding building materials."
