President of Uzbekistan Approves Measures for Accelerated Industrial Development in the Regions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved a decree “On Additional Measures for the Accelerated Development of Industry in the Regions and Involvement of Industrial Enterprises in Export”, aimed at activating the industrial potential of the country’s regions.
The decree sets key targets for 2025–2026: the share of regional industry in the total industrial structure of the country is to reach 45%, 34 high-tech industrial projects are to be implemented, with the share of technologically advanced products increasing to 25% and more than 3,500 new jobs created. In addition, up to five industrial “growth points” are planned in each district and city.
To support local enterprises, additional tax incentives will be introduced from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2028. Expenses for transportation and meals of employees, within one base value per month per employee, will be deductible from the social tax base, provided that the average salary of workers is at least twice the minimum wage.
For enterprises engaged in gypsum extraction for their own needs and the production of construction materials from it, the land use tax rate will be reduced by 50%.
These measures are designed to stimulate industrial development in the regions, enhance the export potential of enterprises, and create new jobs.
