President of Uzbekistan and U.S. Senator Discuss Development of Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 November, during his working visit to Washington, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received U.S. Senator Steve Daines, Co-Chair of the Senate Central Asia Caucus, at his residence.
The meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States and expanding multifaceted cooperation.
The Head of State praised the level of interparliamentary engagement, emphasizing the important role of the Senate Central Asia Caucus in fostering dialogue between the two nations.
It was noted with satisfaction that relations between Uzbekistan and the United States have reached an unprecedented level. The sides highlighted the growth in bilateral trade, the active expansion of investment partnerships, and the increasing number of joint projects with leading American companies.
In recent months, record-breaking agreements and contracts have been signed, and additional economic documents are expected to be concluded during the current visit. The importance of the U.S. Congress’s continued support for implementing these agreements was underscored.
Special attention was given to strengthening cooperation with the State of Montana, represented by Senator Steve Daines. The parties agreed to organize a Montana business mission to Uzbekistan to explore opportunities for collaboration in the industrial, agricultural, and educational sectors.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on current international and regional issues of mutual interest.
