President of Türkiye Condemns Attack on Aid Ship to Gaza
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan strongly condemned Israel’s actions against the international flotilla Global Sumud, which was carrying humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza.
Speaking at an event of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Erdoğan described the incident as “banditry” and declared that Türkiye supports all participants of the mission, which he called “a reflection of the collective conscience of humanity.”
According to the Turkish leader, one of the flotilla’s main goals was to draw global attention to the “barbarity that leaves Gaza’s children dying of hunger.”
He stressed that Global Sumud had “once again shown the world the cruelty in Gaza and the bloody nature of Israel.”
Erdoğan accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of leading what he called “a government of genocide” that not only obstructs peace efforts but “prevents even the possibility of peace.”
The President assured that Türkiye “will not abandon its Palestinian brothers” and will continue efforts to achieve a ceasefire and lasting peace.
He also underlined that “the attack on civilians in international waters” was further proof that Israeli authorities are trying to conceal their actions in Gaza.
Erdoğan added that Turkish institutions are closely monitoring the situation around the attack on Global Sumud and taking measures to ensure the safety of Turkish citizens on board the flotilla.
