President of Shanghai Mitsubishi Visits Elevator Plant at Tashkent’s TEXNOPARK

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Wang Zhongpei, President of Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd. (SMEC), visited the elevator plant located at the TEXNOPARK industrial zone in Tashkent.

The visit aimed to provide a first-hand look at the operations of the largest vertical transport manufacturer in Central Asia, with an annual production capacity of 4,000 units. Discussions during the meeting focused on the potential introduction of Shanghai Mitsubishi’s flagship product — LEHY-Pro elevators — to the Uzbek market, along with the integration of advanced “smart elevator” technologies.

Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd., established in 1987, specializes in high-speed and innovative elevator systems. In 2024, the company certified an elevator with a record-breaking speed of 12.5 m/s in China. Its products are exported to more than 90 countries, with partnerships in over 40 international markets. Among its landmark projects is the 632-meter-tall Shanghai Tower.

It should be recalled that on 14 May 2025, TEXNOPARK and SMEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand cooperation in manufacturing and deploying advanced elevator technologies in Uzbekistan.
