Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov sent a congratulatory letter to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the occasion of the opening of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which is being held in Samarkand.
In his message, Japarov emphasized the historical significance of the event for Central Asia and noted that holding the conference outside UNESCO’s Paris headquarters for the first time in over 40 years reflects Uzbekistan’s high international standing and recognition of the region as a center of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The Kyrgyz leader highlighted the symbolism of hosting the forum in Samarkand — a city that has long been a cradle of science, enlightenment, and spirituality. He also praised Uzbekistan’s role as a bridge between civilizations and a hub for ideas of peace, mutual understanding, and creativity.
Japarov expressed confidence that the conference’s decisions and initiatives will open new opportunities for cooperation in education, science, and culture, strengthen friendship among nations, and contribute to the region’s prosperity.
He conveyed his best wishes to the brotherly people of Uzbekistan for a successful forum, fruitful discussions, and constructive outcomes.
