Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As previously reported, with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tokyo, a video conference was organized with the participation of domestic and Japanese doctors who exchanged experiences on countering the spread of coronavirus in countries and the world as a whole.
The correspondent of Dunyo talked with one of the participants in the meeting, President of the Japan Infectious Diseases Association, President of the Japan Society of Clinical Microbiology, Professor of the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of the Medical University Toho Kazuhiro Tateda, who shared his assessments of measures taken to curb COVID-19 in our country .
“The exchange of experience and opinions with foreign experts on the prevention and treatment of coronavirus is very important for a more effective joint response to the pandemic,” the Japanese expert said. - An online dialogue with Uzbek doctors allowed us to present a complete picture of measures taken in the country to curb the spread of coronavirus.
We highly appreciate the efforts of the leadership of Uzbekistan to protect the population and economy of the country from the impact of this challenge. I consider it timely and correct the decision to introduce strict quarantine measures in the republic from the first days to prevent the wide spread of the epidemic in the country and promptly identify foci of infection.
The introduction by Uzbekistan of a two-week quarantine for citizens returning from abroad and the observance by the residents of the republic of a self-isolation regime have become effective in combating the virus and its large-scale penetration into the country.
We fully support our colleagues in Uzbekistan in this matter and are ready to implement projects in the field of medicine together with them in the future.
