President Mirziyoyev to Attend UN 80th Anniversary Session and Hold Meetings with Global Leaders

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 20 to 24 September, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will undertake an official visit to New York to participate in the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly.

On the first day of the plenary debate, the President will deliver a speech addressing key issues on the international agenda. Topics to be discussed at the anniversary session include global security and stability, achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, UN system reform and international financial architecture, climate change mitigation, and other contemporary challenges.

On the sidelines of the summit, President Mirziyoyev is scheduled to hold meetings with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, heads of foreign states and governments, and leaders of major international financial institutions.

The business component of the visit will include meetings with representatives of leading American companies and financial-investment organizations.

Several new agreements and contracts aimed at strengthening economic and investment cooperation are expected to be signed during these events.
