President Mirziyoyev Reviews Industrial Zone Development in Chilanzar District

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek  President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Chilanzar district of Tashkent to assess the progress of ongoing projects within its industrial zone.

Established by a Presidential decree on 3 July 2023, the small industrial zone spans 320 hectares across the Beshqurkon and Tirsakobod mahallas. Significant improvements in transport and utility infrastructure have since created favorable conditions for manufacturing and entrepreneurship.

Currently, the zone is home to 531 enterprises that employ energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies. The zone has created nearly 20,000 jobs, and its annual production capacity is estimated at 6.8 trillion soums. In 2025 alone, 50 companies plan to export goods worth US$180 million — a record figure for Chilanzar.

President Mirziyoyev visited Tarleplast, one of the flagship enterprises in the zone. The US$25 million project features 12 types of state-of-the-art European equipment and is capable of producing up to 90,000 tons of steel pipes and metal profiles annually, valued at approximately 900 billion soums. The facility currently employs around 120 people.

Tarleplast products are known for their high resistance to pressure and environmental stress, as well as their attractive price-to-quality ratio. In 2024, the company exported US$4 million worth of goods to Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, and is planning to expand its export footprint.

The President also toured an exhibition showcasing products manufactured within the industrial zone and was briefed on upcoming investment projects. These include the construction of a multi-story industrial building and the creation of a mono-center, which is expected to facilitate the launch of an additional 100 projects and generate approximately 3,000 new jobs.

Future development areas will span construction, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, printing, automotive manufacturing, as well as textile and confectionery production.

In his dialogue with entrepreneurs, the head of state emphasized the importance of implementing projects with high added value, boosting employment, and accelerating the development of the service sector.
