President Mirziyoyev Pardons 392 Inmates Ahead of Holidays

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree granting pardon to a group of inmates ahead of the upcoming Eid Al-Fitra and Navruz celebrations.

Under the decree, issued pursuant to Article 109, Clause 23 of the Constitution, a total of 392 convicts who have shown remorse and committed to rehabilitation were granted clemency.

Of the pardoned individuals, 223 were fully released from further imprisonment, 82 received conditional early release, 34 had their sentences replaced with milder penalties, and the remaining 53 had their prison terms reduced.

The group includes three foreign nationals, 26 women, 14 men over the age of 60, 166 individuals under 30, and 24 former members of banned organizations.

Relevant ministries and agencies have been tasked with ensuring the reintegration of the pardoned into their families, supporting social adaptation, employment, and the development of law-abiding lifestyles.
