President Islam Karimov leaves for Minsk

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov left for Minsk, Belarus, to participate in next session of the Council of the heads of states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on 9 October 2014, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.

President will participate in the meetings of the CIS leaders in face-to-face and expanded structure. The sides will discuss current state and perspectives of multilateral cooperation within the CIS. The main events of the CIS summit will be held on 10 October.

Earlier, it was reported that the CIS leaders will consider 17 draft documents directed at further developing inter-state cooperation in humanitarian spheres, security and other areas.

The CIS leaders will also consider some organizational issues.
