President Expresses Condolences to Family of Ismail Jurabekov
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 September 2025, distinguished statesman and public figure, Advisor to the Minister of Water Resources of Uzbekistan, Ismail Jurabekov, passed away.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the late official’s home today, where Quranic surahs and prayers were recited. The President highlighted Jurabekov’s significant contributions to the country and recalled his good deeds and service to the nation.
Ismail Jurabekov was born on 12 September 1931, in Samarkand to a working-class family. Throughout his career, he held key positions in the water management system, making major contributions to irrigation and land reclamation in the country. In 1985, he was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Uzbek SSR.
After Uzbekistan gained independence, Jurabekov continued to serve in senior roles: he held the position of First Deputy Prime Minister, led the State Water Inspection, and served as State Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan.
Even in his advanced years, he continued working as Advisor to the Minister of Water Resources, participating in reforms for the development of the New Uzbekistan. His achievements were recognized with the honorary title of “Honored Irrigator of the Republic of Uzbekistan” and several high state awards.
The President conveyed his sincere condolences to the children and relatives of the deceased, wishing them strength and patience. Family members expressed gratitude to the head of state for his attention and words of support.
