President Awards Orders and Medals to Doctors and Foreign Partners
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 November, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a decree awarding a group of healthcare workers in honor of Medical Workers’ Day.
Today, a solemn ceremony was held at Tashkent State Medical University to confer honorary titles, orders, and medals.
Among the awardees were young doctors who received training and internships at leading foreign universities, as well as international partners who have made significant contributions to improving public health.
During the event, it was emphasized that Uzbekistan is rapidly implementing reforms aimed at sustainable economic development, job creation, modern education for youth, and strengthening the health of its citizens.
As a result, the capacity of primary healthcare facilities has increased by 60 percent, bringing medical services significantly closer to the population.
More than 400 high-tech diagnostic and treatment methods, previously available mainly in the capital, have been introduced in the regions. Hundreds of complex surgeries are now being performed at the regional level, and minimally invasive procedures at the district level.
“For the first time, kidney transplant operations have been established in 45 districts — a tangible demonstration of our practical work in safeguarding human health. Life expectancy in our country has increased: for men, from 71 to 73 years, and for women, from 76 to 77.5 years. This is a major collective achievement. In these noble efforts, a worthy contribution belongs to more than 600,000 dedicated healthcare workers, and however much gratitude we express, it will never be enough,” the President noted.
In conclusion, Shavkat Mirziyoyev ceremonially presented state awards and congratulated all recipients on behalf of the people of Uzbekistan.
