President Approves Regulations on Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has approved the regulations governing the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

By presidential decree, a new Regulation on the Ministry was adopted, defining its status, main objectives, functions, rights, responsibilities, and operational procedures.

The Ministry’s key tasks include comprehensive measures for the early warning and management of emergencies, ensuring the constant readiness of all available forces and resources, organizing civil protection, and timely notification of the population about potential threats or actual emergency situations.

The Ministry also coordinates the storage, transportation, use, and disposal of highly flammable and explosive chemicals, monitoring compliance with established safety rules.

Personnel of the Ministry are authorized to wear military and special uniforms, emblems, and insignia, the designs of which are approved by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Military personnel and rescuers are provided with uniforms free of charge.
