President acquainted with the construction of a new airport
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized with the construction of the airport on the basis of the Tashkent-Vostochny airfield on 28 June.
A presidential resolution dated 30 June 2017 envisages the provision of civil (business) aviation services here. During last year’s visit to the airfield, the head of state reviewed the project proposals for the reconstruction of the structure.
Today, construction work is underway at an active pace. It is planned to build 2 runways with a length of 4 kilometers each, hangars and aprons, as well as terminals capable of serving a thousand passengers per hour, including a high-level delegation and business representatives.
The President noted that this airport is being built with an eye to the distant future, so it should turn out to be comprehensively thought out, high-quality and safe.
