Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An event dedicated to showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London.
The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, travel agencies, and companies from the United Kingdom.
Guests were introduced to Uzbekistan’s tourist opportunities, its unique historical and cultural heritage, as well as routes through ancient cities that once served as centers of civilization along the Great Silk Road.
As part of the program, a documentary film by British scholar, writer, and television presenter Bettany Hughes, titled Uzbekistan: The Golden Road, was screened. The film was created as a result of collaboration between the two countries in the field of tourism.
Participants noted that reforms implemented in recent years have contributed to growing foreign tourist interest in Uzbekistan.
At the same time, the development of the tourism sector in the country is being carried out with attention to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, support for sustainable regional development, and strengthening of international ties.
The event concluded with a parade of national costumes, performances by artists, and a tasting of traditional Uzbek dishes.
