Presentation of the economic, investment and tourism potential of Uzbekistan takes place in Minsk
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 June 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Minsk together with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a presentation of the investment and tourism potential of our country for representatives of the Belarusian business community.
Belarusian entrepreneurs received detailed information on the implementation of the Strategy for Uzbekistan’s actions in the five priority areas of development for the period 2017–2021, carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev large-scale reforms and transformations, the tasks for 2019 - the Year of Active Investment and Social Development.
During the event, it was noted that today in Uzbekistan, priority is given to creating a favorable investment climate, benefits and preferences for foreign capital, and to provide comprehensive support for the development of entrepreneurship. The recent drastic measures, including tax cuts, the introduction of free currency conversion, have greatly expanded the country’s opportunities for doing business.
Participants were informed about specific steps Uzbekistan has taken in these areas over the past two years, including the creation of favorable conditions for successful and unhindered business, improving taxation, facilitating administrative procedures for business, and greatly simplifying customs rules and procedures.
They will emphasize a completely new approach of the Government and state bodies to relations with the business community, practical measures taken to protect the rights and interests of entrepreneurs, and a significant reduction in state regulation in the country’s economy.
In this context, the importance was noted of the creation in all regions of the country of the reception of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, allowing representatives of business structures to directly contact the head of government to quickly resolve all problems arising in the course of their activities in Uzbekistan.
Participants of the event were familiarized in detail with the tourism potential of the republic, measures taken by Uzbekistan to develop this sphere, as well as the conditions created for investing in the construction and improvement of tourist infrastructure facilities.
Those present were also informed about targeted programs to attract investment in the field of tourism. In this context, information was presented on the Charvak free tourist zone, privileges and preferences for foreign investors participating in projects in this area.
Participants of the event from the Belarusian side highly appreciated the large-scale reforms and transformations carried out in Uzbekistan, noted a significant improvement in the investment climate in the country, thanks to the measures taken by the country’s leadership to ensure macroeconomic stability and further development, increasing the attractiveness of the economy for foreign investors.
